Let me start by saying that although I rated it a 4, I really see it as more like a 3.5. Decided to checkout Barclay's Prime based on Yelp recommendations and one from a friend. You enter the restaurant and it has what I consider the old school dimly lit steakhouse feel. We had reservations and were seated quickly. I was really glad I had a jacket on because I thought the restaurant was really cold that evening. They served us some bread with butter. Keep in mind that they salt the top of the butter. I found the salt to be overpowering . Personally I recommend asking them to not salt the butter or if they have already done so to scoop the butter from the middle so you can avoid the salt. We decided to get a couple of appetizers. They were the Wagyu Slider Duo and the Lobster Bisque. We had the sliders prepared medium well and I felt like they were more like medium. I thought they were tasty but not extraordinary. The lobster bisque just wasn't my thing. The taste was reminiscent of the lobster shell. Just not a flavor that I was able to appreciate. For dinner we had the Ribeye Steak along with the Chilean Sea Bass. I had the ribeye prepared medium and I felt like it was just slightly undercooked. I thought it was tasty but it did need a little salt. That's strange for me to say because I have been constantly complaining that food is too salty. The sea bass was cooked perfectly and was probably the star of the meal. Every bite was enjoyed. For sides we ordered the potato gratin and the heirloom carrots. I liked the heirloom carrots and they had a strong garlic flavor which I am a fan of. As for the potatoes, they lacked flavor. Not much more to say other than that. We considered getting dessert but my wife wanted to see if the cake could be warmed up and we were told that the icing would melt. It was kind of disappointing because we were hoping they would at least try to accommodate us by offering to bring it up to room temperature. At the end of our meal, our server asked how everything was and I commented that we didn't really care for the potatoes. It was clear to anyone that they had barely been touched. I will admit that I expected our server to either offer a substitute or offer to remove them from the check. She did neither. Overall the service was good but it wasn't anything that stood out to me. I wouldn't say anything negative about our server (other than what I mentioned previously) but I also wouldn't say that she was in any way memorable or went out of her way to accommodate us. It was a pleasant experience visiting the restaurant however I don't think we'll be back.

I'm leaning more towards 4.5, not quite a 5 star. We went for the experience to try the cheesesteak for bf's birthday, and were actually much more impressed than we thought we would be. I thought I had more pictures, but apparently I did not, so the only 2 photos are attached of the cheesesteak and the lobster. We also had the lobster bisque, scallops, and the wagyu sliders as appetizers. I'm not a huge fan of red meat, so the sliders were plenty for me and they were very good. The meat was very tender and the onions were the perfect topping. Bf really liked the bisque and the scallops were cooked perfectly. I ordered the lobster entree and we split the spinach and potato gratin sides. The lobster was delicious, and the sauce complimented it very well. I would definitely order it again. The sides were plentiful, and we ended up taking almost half of them to go with the rest of the cheesesteak. He enjoyed the cheesesteak, but said it was probably really just a one time thing, as he would rather order a nice steak if we go back, but it was a fun experience. I tried a piece, and the roll was really the stand out for me. I love a good seeded roll. Since I added in the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, they brought out a small extra cream puff dessert, which was nice. I had the key lime tart and he had the chocolate cake and we both ordered a coffee. Dessert was good, nothing spectacular, but both were a good ending to our meals. We liked the drinks that we ordered, they weren't watered down or too strong and the champagne that came with the cheesesteak was also good. We would definitely go back and keep an earlier reservation time like we did so it wasn't super crowded or too loud inside.

I've long struggled to rate many of the "fine dining"establishments" around Philly due to the fact we have soooo many food options that are a bit more economical and also just as delicious. Barclay Prime stands high amongst the crowd. Environment As you would expect, the environment eludes sultry and sophistication. However, I will note despite this it didn't feel outright pretentious and the service received met the mark of the price. Food Where shall I begin as it relates to the food?! For this visit, I had a spread that consisted of everything of the Caesar Salad(see images), scallops, crispy shrimp(A MUST-see images)and their 12 oz Bone-In Filet Mignon. Every single dish made my tongue tingle from delectability. If you're ever flush with cash, Steak 48 is a worthwhile splurge. I've yet to have a menu item that left me with buyers remorse. Happy eating!

Hands down the best steak I ever had (American wagyu ribeye cap) and my wife's as well (filet). The bread and honey butter amazing (the bread is like and English Yorkshire Pudding with cheese). The 3 sides we had 1 not going to lie you the truffle mashed potatoes id pass on next time 2 the truffle Mac and cheese I'd eat as a meal it was so good 3 the carrots. I'm not a huge veg guy but what did they do. So delicious Lastly the key lime pie. The only thing wrong with it was I ran out after eating the whole thing.

Wrapped up Philadelphia with an amazing evening at Barclay Prime... Forget about the Wine and Bread (pish posh) Seared Diver Scallops, Hamachi Crudo, Chopped Salad, Grilled Broccolini, Kennett Mushrooms, American Wagyu Ribeye Cap, 40 Day Dry-Aged Ribeye, Banana Pudding Crème Brûlée & Cereal Killer Dessert Cocktail. I'd fly back for the Crème Brûlée & Cereal Killer alone

WOW! I've been to a lot of restaurants in my life and Barclay Prime has to be top 3 all time! And that says a lot. From the service, to atmosphere, to food! Every tv big was spectacular. First off, the white marbled tables and lounge seating is so vibey! We tried an assortment of fresh seafood (lobster, crab, oysters, shrimp cocktail, and scallops). The east coast oysters were more tasty in my opinion. I also didn't know shrimp cocktail could taste that good. My favorite was the scallops! We also shared the ceaser salad and lobster bisque. The lobster bisque is a MUST for its taste and presentation! For our main, we shared the snow a5 wagyu, lemon caper fish, and lobster. The snow wagyu was the perfect amount of meatiness and marbling. If you're looking for more marbling, the kobe would be the choice, but I personally loved the snow. The broccolini was amazing, however the asparagus was underwelming. We got 2019 amarone wine was it was one of the best wines i've ever had! Overall, such a great experience and we will be back.

Barclay Prime Steakhouse offers a truly delightful dining experience that deserves a solid 4.5 stars. From the moment you step into the restaurant, the library aesthetics envelop you in a cozy and intimate atmosphere, perfect for a special evening out. The service is top-notch, with professional staff ensuring that every aspect of your visit is enjoyable. Now, let's talk about the food. We were thoroughly impressed with the lobster-based pasta, a standout dish that left a lasting impression. The quality of the steak was undeniable, evident from the first glance that it was quality sourced. And let's not forget about the dessert - the citrus cloud was a refreshing and unique treat that provided the perfect conclusion to our meal, with its light and fresh citrus flavors. A special mention goes to the rose wine selection, which pleasantly surprised us with its exceptional taste and complemented our meal beautifully! While the king crab didn't quite meet our expectations in terms of freshness, we understand that as a steakhouse, the focus may not be primarily on seafood. Nevertheless, it was a minor hiccup in an otherwise outstanding dining experience. Overall, our time at Barclay Prime Steakhouse was thoroughly enjoyable, and we're already looking forward to returning for another memorable meal. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a superb steakhouse experience.

Spent more than I planned here but everything was delicious! We got the seabass, lamb, and ribeye. IMO the seabass was incredible but others' favorite was the lamb. Ribeye didn't have the bone and while good it's most noticeable feature is being a large portion. The mushroom side was incredible and would recommend and order again. The other sides were good, as expected, but I'd try other options. Incredible service and yorkshire pudding(!!). Creme brulee was more banana than I'm used-to but still delicious. Classy bathroom, bar, seating bookshelves, etc. Glad we were at the dining room but the lounge or bar doesn't seem that bad. We decided not to do the cheesesteak so I'll have to come back again =)

My first time here and I'm just so disappointed that I didn't come here sooner! Everything from the food to the service was amazing! Definitely recommend their steaks and the wagyu cheesesteak! The steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection!
